MPFA welcomes new appointment to MPF Schemes Advisory Committee

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (26 October) welcomed the appointment of Hon Wong Ting-kwong as the chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee (MPFSAC).

Mr Wong's two-year appointment will take effect on 1 November.

MPFA Chairman Anna Wu Hung-yuk said, “Mr Wong has been closely associated with the MPFA and the development of the MPF System given that he had been a member of the MPF Management Board between 2005 and 2011, and that he was chairman of the MPF Industry Schemes Committee for the past six years. I have no doubt that Mr Wong would be able to capitalize on his in-depth knowledge of the MPF system in leading the MPFSAC to give valuable advice on further strengthening and refining the System as one of the pillars of retirement protection for the Hong Kong working population.”

Ms Wu also expressed her gratitude to the former MPFSAC Chairman Mr David Sun Tak-kei. "During his short chairmanship (30 March 2011 to June 2012) as well as his six years’ experience as an MPFA Management Board member, Mr Sun has made significant contributions and given much valued advice towards the development of the MPF System," said Ms Wu. Mr Sun resigned from MPFSAC in June 2012 when he was appointed as the Director of Audit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
