MPFA is empowered by the MPFSO to regulate the affairs and activities of MPF trustees and ensure as far as practicable that the MPF trustees administer the registered MPF schemes for which they are responsible in a prudent manner. MPFA may also exercise its powers to investigate suspected non-compliance by the MPF trustees when necessary.
Procedures for handling suspected non-compliance by MPF trustees
MPFA identifies suspected non-compliance by MPF trustees from complaints, onsite inspections at MPF trustees’ offices, referrals from other regulators and self-reports by MPF trustees.
