Regulatory Powers
MPFA is empowered by the Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance (ORSO) to act as the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Schemes (ORSO schemes). MPFA may exercise its power to carry out investigations on suspected breaches related to ORSO schemes. Actions to be taken include:
- investigation and interviews
- requesting information from trustees, administrators, employers and other relevant persons
Procedures for handling suspected breaches by ORSO employers and administrators
MPFA identifies suspected breaches of the ORSO from complaints, onsite inspections, referrals from other regulators and self-reports by ORSO schemes.
