Overview of Regulatory Framework
The MPFA regulates the operations of mandatory provident fund (MPF) schemes and occupational retirement (ORSO) schemes in accordance with the provisions under the MPF and ORSO legislation, as well as relevant codes and guidelines. In addition, the MPFA also issues circulars, standards and best practice notes to give guidance to the industry. The MPFA also oversees the operations of the eMPF Platform, including approving operating rules and giving to the system operator and MPF trustees directions or instructions the MPFA considers appropriate for safeguarding the integrity and stability of the eMPF Platform.
