The MPFA Chairman praises Professor Nelson Chow Wing-san for his valuable contributions
The Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), Mr Henry Fan Hung-ling, today (23 March 2007, Friday) expressed gratitude to Professor Nelson Chow Wing-san for his valuable contributions towards the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (MPF) System as the Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee (MPFSAC) over the past years.
Mr Fan said: "The MPFSAC under the leadership of Professor Chow had contributed to the successful implementation of MPF System in Hong Kong by making many constructive and visionary suggestions. Professor Chow is also respected for his concern for the elders and the retirement protection for the people of Hong Kong.
"I deeply believe our colleagues in the MPFA will see Professor Chow as their role model and put in their best in further developing the MPF System."
Mr Fan also expressed thanks to two outgoing members of the MPFSAC for their contributions to the MPF System. They are Dr Danny Ngai Kam-fai and the Hon. Li Fung-ying.
In the meantime, he welcomes the Government's appointment of Mr Lee Kai-ming as the Chairman of the MPFSAC, and two new members, Mr Stanley Lau Chin-ho and Mr Wong Kwok-kin.
Mr Fan said, " Mr Lee Kai-ming had been a member of the MPFA Management Board for eight and a half years and was also the Chairman of the MPF Industry Schemes Committee for six years. The breadth and depth of his experience in the operation of the MPF System render him a most suitable person to chair the Advisory Committee. I am confident that the MPFSAC, under Mr Lee’s leadership, will continue to contribute to the future developments of the MPF System by making valuable suggestions to provide better retirement protection for the working population of Hong Kong."
