"They are very experienced and fully qualified for the posts concerned," added Mr. Lee.
Both Ms. Hendena Yu and Mr. Raymond Tam have been actively involved in the preparation for the introduction of MPF. They have previously worked in actuarial and pensions consultancy firms, the Office of the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Schemes, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, and the now disbanded MPF Office.
Mr. Peter Tam has extensive administration and management as well as insurance experience in Hong Kong and Canada. In the past four years he held senior positions in the Airport Authority.
Mrs. Agnes Mak has 20 years of experience in computer and information technology related fields. He has previously worked for the Hong Kong Government and provided legal advice on policy and legal issues in various areas including banking, insurance, exchange fund and occupational retirement schemes. He has also worked for a major financial group for eight years, mainly responsible for retirement scheme and provident fund services.
In response to media speculations on the top management posts in the MPFA, Mr. Lee reiterated that the recruitment exercise for the Managing Director and other senior officers was still in progress. Separate announcements would be made when the appointments are confirmed.
