New radio programme Customize Your Own Life helps you navigate your MPF journey
In your life-long MPF journey, you will have to make various investment choices. It may not be easy to make the investment choice that best suits your needs, so why not get some investment tips from professionals?
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) is producing, in partnership with Commercial Radio One, a four-episode radio programme called Customize Your Own Life. The programme, which starts on 8 July 2011 (this Friday), is hosted by popular financial commentator Mr Chan Wing-luk. Each episode will begin with a two-minute drama, followed by the host and a guest explaining related MPF issues. This is intended to help radio listeners learn more about the MPF and equip them with knowledge about MPF investments to help them make informed decisions.
Customize Your Own Life will be broadcast on Commercial Radio One (FM88.1-89.5) from 8 to 29 July 2011 on four consecutive Friday nights from 10:30 to 11:00 pm. The main themes and guests of the four episodes are as follows:
First episode: Which fund(s) should I choose?
Broadcast date: 8 July 2011 (Friday)
Guest: Dr Billy Mak, MBA Associate Programme Director, Hong Kong Baptist University
Second episode: Which MPF scheme should I choose?
Broadcast date: 15 July 2011 (Friday)
Guest: Mr Alvin Lam, veteran financial planner
Third episode: When and how should I adjust my MPF fund choices? Should I make additional MPF contributions?
Broadcast date: 22 July 2011 (Friday)
Guest: Mr Simon Lee, Senior Instructor in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Fourth episode: What should I do with my MPF accrued benefits when I change jobs or retire?
Broadcast date: 29 July 2011 (Friday)
Guest: Dr Eddie Lam, veteran investment adviser
Transcriptions of each episode will be published in Metropolis Daily on the Monday following each programme, that is, 11, 18, 25 July and 1 August.
The MPFA is devoted to promoting investment education. Apart from publicizing MPF information in the media, the MPFA also reaches out to the community to get in touch directly with scheme members.
In the coming months, the MPFA will organize four rounds of roving exhibitions "Making Informed Decisions for your MPF Life" MPF Investment Information Centre in different districts. The first round of exhibitions will be held at Cheung Fat Estate in Tsing Yi on 23 and 24 July, with details to be announced soon.
Popular financial commentator Chan Wing-luk will host a new radio programme Customize Your Own Life to explain MPF-related issues.
