The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) strongly welcomes the appointments of Mr Donald Tsang Yam-kuen as Chief Secretary for Administration and Mr Antony Leung Kam-chung as Financial Secretary.

“It is most heartening for us to have Mr Tsang and Mr Leung, with their high standing, vast experience and unquestioned commitment, in positions of leadership in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,” said Chairman of the MPFA, the Hon Charles Lee Yeh-kwong today (Thursday).

“The MPF is one of the biggest social programmes ever undertaken in Hong Kong and the system also is expected to significantly, though gradually, alter the landscape of the financial and capital markets in Hong Kong.

“In developing and consolidating the MPF system, there are still many challenges ahead for the MPFA.  It is therefore particularly reassuring to have Mr Tsang and Mr Leung to lead and guide the MPFA in its future endeavours,” added Mr Lee.
