MPFA urges the MPF industry to tighten VRT arrangement and pushes forward COVID-19 vaccination
The MPFA today (17 November) issued a circular to the MPF industry, urging MPF trustees and principal intermediaries1 to follow the Government’s latest COVID-19 vaccination in lieu of regular testing (VRT) arrangement and tighten the testing requirements for their staff and subsidiary intermediaries2 (SIs). Staff of trustees and SIs who have not received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine by 30 November 2021 or they are unfit to receive vaccination due to medical conditions should undergo effective testing for COVID-19 once a week instead of once every two weeks.
As the Government will implement third dose COVID-19 vaccination arrangements by phases, MPF trustees and principal intermediaries are also required to continuously implement various measures in encouraging eligible staff and SIs to receive the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine, such as implementing flexible working hours to accommodate vaccination appointments and providing incentive such as vaccination leave for staff who have received the third dose of vaccine.
An MPFA spokesperson said that to effectively safeguard public health and resume Hong Kong’s socio-economic and normal life in a gradual and orderly manner, it is essential for the MPF industry to get fully prepared, and for their staff and SIs to get vaccinated or undergo regular testing.
