MPFA urges MPF industry to vote in the District Council Election
The 2023 District Council (DC) Ordinary Election will be held on Sunday, 10 December 2023 (election day). This will be the first large-scale, territory-wide election following improvements to the district governance system and reforms to the DCs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The MPFA has written to the MPF industry earlier, urging members of the industry as well as their family members and friends to vote in the upcoming DC election.
An MPFA spokesperson said that the work of DCs is relevant to each and every member of our community. A well-functioning and efficient DC will support the Government in implementing district policies and allow DC members from diverse backgrounds to utilize their expertise in communicating policies to the public and gathering public feedback. This will ensure that policies of the Government align with the needs of the people.
The spokesperson continued to say that by casting their votes in the DC election, voters can make a difference and elect new DC members who are truly dedicated to improving their districts and building a stronger community together.
The MPFA appeals to members of the MPF industry, as well as their family members and friends, to consider the candidates in the respective districts and vote in the upcoming DC election between 8:30 am and 10:30 pm on the election day.
