MPFA holds sharing session on the “Spirit of the Two Sessions”
The MPFA held a sharing session on the “Spirit of the Two Sessions” earlier (20 Mar), inviting Mr Leung Chun-ying, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), to share the key content of the “Two Sessions” this year and their significance to Hong Kong.
Attending the sharing session were MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, members of the MPFA Management Board and eMPF Platform Company (eMPF Company) Board of Directors, MPFA Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee and other executives. More than 600 MPFA and eMPF Company staff participated in the sharing session physically and virtually.
In the sharing session, Mr Leung Chun-ying highlighted the key content of three “Work Reports” of the “Two Sessions” this year, namely Work Report of the Government, Work Report of the Supreme People's Court and Work Report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate. He noted that these reports were well structured and articulated with clear planning and objectives, allowing MPFA and eMPF Company colleagues to have a comprehensive understanding of the developmental trajectory and directions of our country.
Mr Leung also encouraged the MPFA to actively engage in closer exchanges with the relevant ministries and local authorities to share their experience and enhance mutual understanding, thereby playing a more proactive role in our country’s economic and social development. The staff attending the sharing session also interacted with Mr Leung on topics related to the “Two Sessions”, including integration into the overall national development strategy, opportunities and challenges in the development of the Greater Bay Area, and challenges related to ageing society.
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau expressed her gratitude to Mr Leung for giving a sharing session for the MPFA and eMPF Company staff, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the “Spirit of the Two Sessions”. She said, “Colleagues of MPFA and eMPF Company are encouraged to continue enhancing their understanding of the Mainland, implement the ‘Spirit of the Two Sessions’ collectively and spare no effort to reflect this in their work. By leveraging the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle, we can promote high-quality development and make contributions to the prosperity and stability of our country and Hong Kong.”
“The MPFA will continue to forge collaboration with the relevant ministries and local authorities to share its experience in retirement protection, exchanging insights and views on retirement issues of mutual concern, with a view to contributing to the development of pension and retirement affairs in the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,” she added.”
