Multimedia competition on the MPF Become an MPF master producing your own creative video clips and mobile apps

Riding on the success of the event in the past two academic years, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) is organising a multimedia competition on the MPF for tertiary institutions again this year to encourage youngsters to spread the MPF message through the creative use of multimedia. All full-time students from local tertiary institutions are welcome to join the competition, which consists of three parts -- interactive on-campus activities, a multimedia competition and multimedia training workshops.

Call for enrolment through interactive on-campus activities

The entire event, co-organised with the magazine PC Market, part of Sing Tao News Corporation Limited, has been rolled out. Details of the multimedia competition are available on the MPFA's facebook fan page "Rolling My Money". Tertiary students can sign up for the competition online. In November 2012, on-campus "warm-up stations" with interactive activities will be set up in seven local tertiary institutions to deliver the MPF message to students and call on them to join the competition.

Fabulous prizes for smart ideas and creative work

The multimedia competition is divided into two streams: video and smartphone applications. Students who come up with smart ideas and creative works will win fabulous prizes. Awards will be given to the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up of each group. The champion may even win a summer internship in the MPFA. Shortlisted entries will be put on the MPFA's Facebook fan page "Rolling My Money" in April 2013 for voting by netizens. The entry with most votes will win the "Netizens' Favorite" award.

Professional Mentorship for participants

The organsers will hold a series of multimedia training workshops in January and February 2013 to equip students with the necessary skills to create winning videos or smartphone apps and be recognised as "MPF Masters". Financial experts and representatives from the MPFA will share with students their experience and knowledge on financial planning and MPF investment, while a number of pioneers and representatives from leading multimedia creativity enterprises will share with students their experience in creating and producing video clips and smartphone apps.

Among the advisers are director Mak Yan Yan, scriptwriter and director Clement Cheng, designer and artist Prudence Mak @ Chocolate Rain, animation illustrator Peter Ng, famous film director and editor Wong Hoi, Chief Executive Officer of a mobile application and creative media firm Jason Chiu @ Cherrypicks, founder of a digital marketing consultant Kenneth Wan @ The Bread Digital and renowned financial analyst Dickie Wong. The above mentors and MPFA representatives will give advice and suggestions to participating students to help them fine-tune their apps and video projects.
