A wide range of promotional initiatives on ECA

The Employee Choice Arrangement (ECA) came into effect on 1 November. The new arrangement gives 2.35 million employees greater autonomy in selecting a trustee and a scheme for their MPF. With a view to enhancing their understanding about ECA, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has launched a new round of promotional and educational initiatives, including a new TV special programme and promotional activities at the district level. Details are as follows:

TV Short Dramas

The TV programme on ECA (“積金你話事”) is a 10-episode short drama series jointly produced by the MPFA and TVB. The series stars Lai Lok Yi, Geoffrey Wong, Tsui Wing, Yvonne Lam, Queenie Chu and others as their characters in the popular TVB sitcom “Come Home Love”. Key information about ECA is conveyed in short, light-hearted dramas to help deepen viewers’ understanding of the new arrangement.

The series will be telecast on TVB-Jade and HD Jade from 8:00 pm to 8:02 pm, from Monday to Friday for two consecutive weeks starting from tomorrow (12 November).

The episodes can also be viewed on the websites of the MPFA and TVB (www.tvb.com) or via the myTV smart phone application.

Roving Exhibitions at MTR Stations

At the district level, from now until early next year, the MPFA will be holding roving exhibitions at various MTR stations. Details of the roving exhibitions are available on the MPFA website.

“ECA – MPF Boss Tactics” Booklet

“ECA – MPF Boss Tactics” is a new publication produced to tie in with the ECA publicity initiatives. The booklet features the three “MPF Boss Tactics” – “checking every detail”, “refusing to follow fads”, and “thinking carefully before taking action”. The booklet also covers salient features of the new arrangement, key considerations, and potential risks when making a transfer.

The booklet and other relevant audio-visual productions and publications are available on the ECA thematic webpage on the MPFA website. Members of the public are welcome to visit the webpage to find out more. The booklet will also be distributed together with a local newspaper tomorrow (12 November).

Since mid-year, the MPFA has rolled out a variety of promotional and educational activities, including setting up a thematic webpage and placing advertisements in newspapers and outdoor media, and on TV, radio and public transport, to introduce ECA.

Members of the public can call the MPFA hotline at 2918 0102 to enquire about ECA, or visit the MPFA website to get more detailed ECA information.

From now until early next year, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority will be holding roving exhibitions on the Employee Choice Arrangement at different MTR stations to introduce salient points of the new arrangement, key considerations, and potential risks when making a transfer.
