MPFA exhibition to provide personal account checking service

Do you know how many MPF personal accounts you currently hold and the whereabouts of those accounts?

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) will organize a roving exhibition on MPF investment in Tuen Mun this weekend and will, for the first time, provide on-site personal account checking service, in addition to information on MPF investments and retirement planning. Exhibition details are as follows:

Roving exhibition MPF Investment Information Centre
Date:       19 & 20 October 2013 (Sat & Sun)
Time:       11am to 6pm
Venue:     Atrium, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Plaza

Services provided at the exhibition include:
  1. Checking personal accounts
Upon showing their Hong Kong Identity Card, members of the public can obtain on the spot for free their own “Report of Personal Account” which will show the names of the trustees for their MPF personal accounts and the number of accounts they have. The new form specially designed for personal account consolidation “Scheme member’s request for account consolidation form” will also be available and MPFA staff members will be there to provide assistance to MPF scheme members who have queries about personal account consolidation and other aspects of their MPF.
  1. CFPCM counter
CFPCM certified financial planners stationed at the venue will provide free and independent analysis of MPF investments and retirement plans. Interested members of the public are requested to make an appointment with the MPFA’s Ms Fung at 2292 1668 and then bring along their MPF Annual Benefit Statements to talk with a CFPCM Certified Financial Planner.
  1. Game booths
Participants will have the chance to win an “MPFA x Maggiology” zip bag (while stocks last).

The MPFA kicked off a campaign last month to encourage MPF scheme members to consolidate their MPF personal accounts. The campaign includes sending letters to 180,000 scheme members holding four or more personal accounts. The member’s “Report of Personal Account” and a personal account consolidation form are enclosed in the letters in a bid to encourage them to take action.

In the coming months, the MPFA will also join hands with District Council members, labour unions, employer associations and others to offer personal account checking service in different districts. MPF scheme members can also visit any of our MPFA offices to check their personal accounts. Alternatively, they may also complete a form, which can be downloaded from the MPFA website, and submit it to the authority and the MPFA will provide the member with information on his personal accounts by post.
