MPFA TV to be launched to show videos on MPF investment education

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has produced a series of six videos disseminating messages on MPF investment, which are available for preview on a new YouTube channel, MPFA TV, starting today (8 January).

The six videos are presented in the form of TV programmes, which include a finance programme, cooking show, game show and beauty contest. They introduce six topics about MPF investment – default funds, forward pricing, annual benefit statements, fund fact sheets, the Fee Comparative Platform and the fund risk indicator – in a light-hearted manner. Starring artistes Corinna Chamberlain and Brian Thomas Burrell, the videos have 30- and 60-second versions for broadcast on different media.

Also starting today, a 30-second trailer is being broadcast on the outdoor TV screens at Times Square in Causeway Bay and at Kwai Chung Plaza.

MPFA Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mr Cheng Yan-chee said, "The MPFA is well aware of the importance of investment education and has been organizing various events and using different platforms to encourage employees to actively manage their MPF to prepare for their retirement life.

"We launched this YouTube channel – MPFA TV – both to convey MPF messages in a lively, easy-to-understand way and to allow the public to watch them anytime, anywhere to learn more about MPF investment," Mr Cheng added.

Mr Cheng, together with the two main artistes, attended an outreach event in Causeway Bay this afternoon to promote the videos. They distributed to passers-by MPFA calendars highlighting this year’s MPF contribution days and red packets carrying MPF messages.

MPFA TV will be officially launched on 20 January. The 30-second versions of the clips will then be shown at various outdoor venues and on other online platforms, while the 60-second versions will continue to be shown on the MPFA TV YouTube channel. Other publicity channels include radio commercials and newspaper advertisements.

The campaign will also include an online game, which will run from today until 19 January. Members of the public will have a chance to get an MPFA souvenir and win a lucky draw by watching the videos on the dedicated website and answering some questions.
