Sports programme
- This explains that the MPF System is one of the multiple pillars of retirement protection recommended by the World Bank and that it complements the others. It also explains that since different scheme members have different investment objectives, they should take into account their personal needs and see if they need to increase their personal savings or make other investments for retirement.
Weather report
- This highlights the fact that the MPF is a long-term investment that usually lasts 40 years or more. Scheme members should therefore not get overly excited about short-term market fluctuations, or short-term gains or losses. They are advised to seek a balance between long-term investment risk and returns when deciding on their investment portfolio.
Leisure programme
- This programme explains relevant income and the calculation for MPF contributions.
Thirty-second versions of the videos will be shown on television channels, at various outdoor venues and on other online platforms, while 60-second versions will be available on the MPFA TV YouTube channel.
The MPFA launched the MPFA TV YouTube channel in early 2014 and produced a number of videos starring artistes Corinna Chamberlain and Brian Thomas Burrell. Presented in the form of television programmes, the videos introduce in a light-hearted manner various topics on MPF investment, including forward pricing, annual benefit statements, fund fact sheets, the Fee Comparative Platform, and the fund risk indicator.
The MPFA attaches great importance to MPF investor education, disseminating MPF messages through traditional platforms such as newspapers and magazines, as well as through popular online channels, including social media channels, such as YouTube, Facebook and mobile phone applications, to provide the public with information about the MPF System and MPF investment.
