MPFA to launch MPF Smart Tips II TV series
Saving for retirement is an important concept in wealth management. Your retirement life will be better secured by early planning and proper management of your Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF). Not everyone, however, is aware of the importance of putting this idea into action.
To enhance public awareness of the importance of retirement planning, especially among young people, and to educate them on MPF concepts, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has joined hands with RTHK again to produce a new TV series, entitled MPF Smart Tips II.
MPF Smart Tips II stars local singer-songwriter trio New Youth Barbershop. The episodes, in which members of the trio – Au Yueng, Faat and Showroom – play different characters, introduce the functions and merits of the MPF System and explain how scheme members should manage their MPF through light-hearted short dramas.
The dramas are further enriched by musical elements. New Youth Barbershop has tailor-made some music pieces with MPF messages for each episode and will perform their music throughout the series as well.
The eight-episode series, with each episode lasting five minutes, will be telecast on TVB-Jade (3:20 pm), ATV Home (11:00 am) and RTHK TV 31 (6:55 pm), from this Sunday (21 June) for eight consecutive weeks. The video series will also be available on the RTHK website. A dedicated Facebook fanpage (“識法保積金II”) has been set up, with trailers and screenshots available for viewing.
The first series of MPF Smart Tips TV dramas was aired in 2012. It had five episodes, which presented different MPF non-compliant cases in a drama format to remind employees of their MPF rights and to appeal to employers to abide by the law.
