MPFA revamps mobile application to give tips to job seekers
July is the month of public examination results, graduation and summer holidays. For some students, it is also a month in which they enter the job market. For many fresh graduates, writing their CVs and attending job interviews are no easy tasks.
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has recently revamped its mobile application MVP@workplace, adding more interactive and experiential features to provide Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) information and tips for job seekers.
One of the new features of the application is the “CV Generator”. This is a practical one-stop tool that enables users to generate a personalized CV by choosing a template and keying in details such as personal information, work experience and educational background. Many first-time job seekers may consider the interview to be the most difficult part of job hunting. Our “Virtual Interview” mimics the job interview scenario by providing a virtual interviewer. This section helps users practise their skill at answering questions properly in both Cantonese and English. Users can also record their interviews to review their performance.
MVP@workplace also contains information on the MPF System and MPFA’s latest events and promotional programmes. In addition, it provides users with practical experience in filling out an MPF enrolment form, along with points to note when filling in the form. The application is now available for free download from the App Store or Google Play.
Apart from addressing the needs of fresh graduates, the MPFA also provides money management education for different target groups, including future scheme members. Over the years the MPFA has developed a variety of education materials to help teachers and parents educate their students and children on the correct attitudes towards money management and basic concepts of the MPF System and MPF investment.
In view of the growing popularity of online learning platforms, the MPFA has recently launched a brand-new Financial Education Online Resources Centre, which provides users with one-stop access to the e-versions of its educational materials. Scheme members, teachers, parents and students can simply go online to view and obtain the materials they need, which can be sorted by format and level of knowledge.
With the launch of the Financial Education Online Resources Centre, users of the original Teachers’ Zone on the MPFA website can now register with the Online Resource Centre to search for education materials.
