MPFA warns public of impersonators

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (9 June) urged the public to beware of people posing as MPFA staff.

A member of the public had recently reported to the MPFA that she had received a call from a person claiming to be a staff member of the MPFA, soliciting information and seeking a meeting at a public place.

A spokesperson for the MPFA advised members of the public to call the MPFA hotline at 2918 0102 if they have doubts about the identity of people claiming to be MPFA staff.

"All staff of the MPFA are issued with staff and name cards for identification purposes.  Members of the public can ask for their identification documents for verification.

"In general, the MPFA would meet relevant persons at its office at 5/F, One International Finance Centre, 1 Harbour View Street, Central, Hong Kong or the persons' working place.  The MPFA normally would not request to meet members of the public at public places for business matters.  Members of the public are advised to call the MPFA hotline at 2918 0102 if they have any doubts."
