Tender period for eMPF Platform project extended to 29 April
The MPFA openly invited tenders for the eMPF Platform project on 9 December 2019. In view of the latest novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the MPFA announced that the original tender deadline on 9 April 2020 will be extended to 29 April 2020 at 5 pm (Hong Kong time).
An MPFA spokesperson said that as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Authority noted that there has been certain disruption to business operations. To provide adequate time for potential tenderers to prepare and submit tenders, the MPFA decided to extend the deadline for submission of proposals for the project.
The spokesperson added that the industry response to the tender of the eMPF Platform project has been very encouraging. A short extension of the tender submission deadline will allow interested corporations and consortia to have more time for preparation, without causing impact on the overall implementation timeline of the eMPF Platform. The MPFA expects the tender to be awarded in the second half of 2020 and the Platform to be built by 2022 and start to be launched in phases thereafter.
Since 11 November 2019, parties interested in submitting a proposal for the eMPF Platform project can enrol in advance with the MPFA. The MPFA will notify all registered parties about the extension arrangement through email. For details, please refer to the public notice on the latest update on the RFP exercise for the eMPF Platform project. As regards the fourth briefing session on the tender exercise originally scheduled for 24 February, it will be postponed to 2 March.
