MPFA presented Fintech Ecosystem Contribution Award
The MPFA has received the Honorary Award of Fintech Ecosystem Contribution Award, presented by the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA) in recognition of its commitment to advance digital transformation in Hong Kong.
The jury panel recognized the MPFA’s commitment and efforts to develop the eMPF Platform, which marks a breakthrough in the digital transformation in the MPF industry, and exemplifies how fintech catapults the MPF industry into a new era of open architecture and improved operational efficiency. It also encourages the development of the fintech ecosystem through the application of various financial technologies on the eMPF Platform, creating new opportunities for the fintech industry.
At the IFTA FinTech Achievement Awards 2019 virtual presentation ceremony held today (25 Sep), MPFA Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Ms Alice Law said, “This Award means a lot to the MPFA, in particular our team, who has been working on eMPF Platform project over the past few years. It encourage the fintech industry in Hong Kong to continue to develop innovative solutions and services that Hong Kong industry needs to thrive, including business solutions for retirement savings infrastructure and asset management, like the eMPF Platform initiative. The eMPF Platform is meant to be a public utility, a people-oriented, technology-driven platform serving the needs of users of diverse backgrounds, age groups and digital literacy levels.”
“The next few months will be a critical time for the eMPF Platform project after the tender was closed in April this year,” she added. “Towards the end of this year, we will award the contract to build and develop the Platform, which will be launched in phases starting from 2023. We are determined to deliver our strategic vision to create a better ecosystem for MPF members.”
The IFTA FinTech Achievement Awards 2019, with the theme “Transforming FinTech Communities with Competence, Character and Care”, recognize talent and enterprises in pursuing creative solutions that meet business and social needs. The Fintech Ecosystem Contribution Award gave credit to organizations for their efforts in promoting the local fintech ecosystem, especially for the incubation of local and start-up companies.
