The eMPF Platform (the eMPF) commenced operation on 26 June, and three MPF schemes managed by trustees have now joined the eMPF. The eMPF provides comprehensive services. In addition to viewing information, features of account management and transactions are also available. 

According to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), most digital platforms of private pension systems are of the nature of a dashboard, while the eMPF is capable to deliver comprehensive services for employers and scheme members. When the MPF scheme that you enrolled gets onboard the eMPF, employees and self-employed persons who register and log into the eMPF will see a “donut chart” which displays their MPF accrued benefits under different MPF schemes. 

Scheme members will be able to view their MPF account information more conveniently, and they will be able to manage their accounts and perform transactions across schemes, including opening of accounts, making contributions, switching funds, changing investment instructions and consolidating personal accounts. Employers can also enrol their employees, handle contributions, review transaction records, and receive digital reminders of contribution due dates via the eMPF. 

The eMPF is easy and convenient to use that everyone hopes to enjoy it as soon as possible. However, there is no need to rush! The onboarding sequence of MPF schemes is based on the value of MPF assets under management by MPF trustees. They will join the eMPF one by one in ascending order of the assets under management by respective trustees. 

Trustees will send out communication packs to their scheme members and employer clients about two to three months before their schemes get onboard, providing the date and detailed arrangement for registration. You are advised not to register for eMPF too early as your MPF account information will not be available on the eMPF until they are transferred to the Platform.
