MPFA attends Insurance Authority’s annual forum (7 December 2021)
MPFA has been partnering with other financial regulators to jointly advance the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre. MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, Acting Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee and Executive Director (Members) Ms Cynthia Hui attended the Asian Insurance Forum 2021 organized by the Insurance Authority today (7 Dec) where various important topics including Greater Bay Area development, green finance, fintech and regulatory issues were discussed. Attendants included leaders from relevant bureaux, regulatory bodies, and the insurance and financial sectors.
At a discussion titled “Shaping Fintech up for the New Normal”, Ms Hui was invited to provide an update on the latest progress of the eMPF Platform project. She said that MPFA was working at full steam pressing ahead to develop the eMPF Platform. She also encouraged different stakeholders of the MPF System to get prepared to embrace the new opportunities as well as a new and better normal.
