MPFA meets with affected employees of Crostini (16 Sep 2022)
MPFA is highly concerned about the MPF benefits of affected employees due to the sudden closure of the bakery chain Crostini as the initial investigation reveals that Crostini may have defaulted on MPF contributions payment. Representatives of the MPFA today (16 September) met with affected employees of Crostini, and listened to their needs and offered assistance.
MPFA reiterated that recovery of outstanding MPF contributions on behalf of Crostini employees is of utmost priority. All possible means, including legal actions, would be considered. MPFA will also investigate whether Crostini had enrolled all employees in MPF schemes as required by law and will take legal action promptly if any irregularities are found.
MPFA places the interests of scheme members first. We will continue to monitor the incident closely and work together with the Eating Establishment Employees General Union to help affected employees. For those who are affected in this case, please contact MPFA via our hotline (2918 0102) or email (mpfa@mpfa.org.hk).
