MPFA Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee was interviewed by Phoenix TV’s programme “News Decoder” （時事大破解）, during which he reviewed the investment performance of MPF in 2022, and elaborated on the MPFA’s work in member protection, as well as the actions taken by the MPFA in recovering default MPF contributions.   

With regard to public concern over the adequacy of MPF, Mr Cheng stressed that MPF is only one of the pillars of the multi-pillar retirement protection framework of Hong Kong which aims to provide basic retirement protection for the working population. It has to work together with the other pillars, such as voluntary contributions, personal savings, and social services for comprehensive retirement protection.
