MPFA Chairman and Managing Director candidly exchange with LegCo Members (27 February 2023)
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau and Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee met with Legislative Council members via two online meetings yesterday (27 February), sharing the primary work foci of the MPFA this year and the latest progress of the eMPF Platform Project as well as reviewing the investment performance of the MPF System in 2022. The views expressed by the legislators on various aspects of the MPF System were well noted.
Mrs Lau met and exchanged views with Hon Starry Lee Wai-king, Hon Chan Yung, Hon Rock Chen Chung-nin, Hon Edmund Wong Chun-sek, Hon Elizabeth Quat, Dr Hon Ngan Man-yu, Hon Edward Leung Hei and Prof Hon Chan Wing-kwong of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), followed by another session with Dr Hon Johnny Ng Kit-chong and Hon Shang Hailong. At the meetings, Mr Cheng highlighted MPFA’s efforts in protecting scheme members’ interests and enhancing MPF investment framework as well as updated the latest progress of the eMPF Platform project.
Mrs Lau thanked the Members for their invaluable views and suggestions, which would help the MPFA perfect long-term strategies. She added the MPFA would continue to communicate with LegCo Members and stakeholders from all walks of life, gauging their views for further refining the MPF System for the well-being of scheme members’ retirement protection.
