MPFA Chairman listens to views of the hearing impaired persons (17 April 2023)
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau and MPFA colleagues met with representatives of the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf (HKSOD) to listen to their concerns on MPF and retirement protection on 17 April.
Mrs Lau said that MPFA has spared no effort in building a retirement savings system which could provide basic retirement protection to the working population from all walks of life, including employees and self-employed persons. Mrs Lau is particularly concerned about the interests of grassroots workers and the underprivileged, because MPF may probably be their only retirement savings. She thanked the HKSOD for being supportive to the work of the MPFA over the years and called on their continuous collaboration in promoting MPF rights and the eMPF Platform to the hearing impaired with a view to enhancing their retirement protection.
MPFA representatives also took the opportunity to introduce the latest progress of the eMPF Platform project, and reiterated that the design of the eMPF Platform would be composed of web accessibility features to facilitate the use of the underprivileged people, with a view to contributing to help build an inclusive society.
