With a view to facilitating talent flow in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promoting the retirement protection of Hong Kong residents working in the Greater Bay Area, MPFA Managing Director Cheng Yan-chee met with a delegation from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and Administration of Social Insurance Fund of Guangdong on 26 Apr, exchanged on latest developments in the pension space in Guangdong and Hong Kong, and explored further collaboration.

During the meeting, Mr Cheng said that the MPFA has taken a series of measures to help MPF scheme members who wish to work in the Mainland to understand the policy and implementation details under the Interim Measures for Participation in Social Insurance by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents in the Mainland.  As the social and economic situation was resuming to full normalcy, it was expected that cross-boundary employment would be on the rise and the MPFA would continue to keep close liaison with relevant authorities in the Mainland to foster closer rapport and cooperation.

The delegation was led by Mr Xia Qing, Member of the Party Group of Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and Party Secretary of Administration of Social Insurance Fund of Guangdong. MPFA Executive Director (Policy) Ms Gabriella Yee and Director (Policy Development and Research) Mr Eric Cheng also attended the meeting.
