MPFA attends IOPS/OECD meetings (12-14 June 2023)
MPFA Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee together with relevant colleagues attended the joint meetings organised by the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as well as an academic conference on pensions in Paris from 12 to 14 June, meeting representatives of pension regulators around the globe as well as academics and experts to discuss the latest developments in private pensions.
Managing Director shared his views on a range of topical issues in private pension systems during the meetings, including the latest direction of the revision of the IOPS Principles of Private Pension Supervision and the OECD Recommendation on Core Principles of Private Pension Regulation, which are the core principles in assessing regulatory frameworks for private pension systems.
Managing Director also informed delegates from around the world about the latest development of the MPF System and the eMPF Platform, and was actively involved in exchanges on topics of mutual interest with representatives from other pension jurisdictions, renewing collaborative connections while establishing new ones.
