MPFA Chairman in dialogue with future financial leaders (6 July 2023)

 

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau today (6 Jul) met with participants of the Financial Leaders Programme of the Academy of Finance sharing the features and developments of the MPF System, as well as various initiatives for further refining the MPF System and enhancing the retirement protection for Hong Kong people.

 

 

 

Mrs Lau highlighted the importance to enhance Hong Kong as an International Financial Centre. Quoting the MPF System as an example, she said that the advantages of Hong Kong being an IFC have been fully realised, thanks to the availability of diverse investment products, high quality financial service providers and a robust regulatory framework. She added that according to the World Bank’s outcome-based assessment framework for private pension systems, the MPF System has been doing well in a number of aspects. 

 

 

 

 

MPFA Executive Director (Policy) Mr Eric Cheng also expounded the MPFA's ongoing efforts to refine the MPF System as well as the eMPF Platform project, which is the most significant reform initiative of the MPF System since its inception.
