MPFA shares the latest developments of the MPF System with the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong Province and Social Security Fund of Macao SAR (30 November 2023)
On 30 Nov, MPFA Managing Director Cheng Yan-chee led an MPFA delegation in visiting Nansha, Guangzhou, for attending a conference with the Human Resources and Social Security Department (HRSSD) of Guangdong Province, Administration of Social Insurance Fund of Guangdong (ASIFGD), and Social Security Fund (FSS) of Macao SAR to exchange views on latest developments in the pension space across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Mr Cheng said that the MPFA had been striving to strengthen the MPF System by introducing initiatives on various fronts for the well-being of MPF scheme members, namely protecting scheme members’ MPF rights, improving adequacy of MPF savings, driving fee reduction, and expanding the range of MPF investments, etc.
He mentioned in particular that the development of the eMPF Platform, being the largest reform project of the MPF System since its inception, is currently the most important undertaking of the MPFA. The Platform will significantly enhance the efficiency and reduce the costs of MPF scheme administration, as well as augment user experience and pave the way for future MPF reforms.
MPFA would continue to keep close liaison with HRSSD of Guangdong and FSS of Macao SAR to exchange experience on matters of common interest with a view to further promoting the development of the respective pension systems.
