MPFA delegation visits AMCM and FSS in Macao for exchanges on MPF and matters of common interest (9 April 2024)
MPFA Managing Director Cheng Yan-chee and MPFA colleagues visited Macao on 9 Apr, meeting with representatives of the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) and Social Security Fund of Macao (FSS) and exchanging views on latest developments in the pension systems in Hong Kong and Macao.
Mr Cheng said that the eMPF Platform is the most significant reform initiative of the MPF System since its inception. It would standardize, streamline and automate the administration processes of MPF schemes, reshaping the MPF System through digitalization. He stated that the Platform is ready for the phased onboarding of MPF trustees to the eMPF Platform starting from June 2024, in ascending order of their assets-under-management (“AUM”) size, so as to ensure safe, secure and smooth migration of MPF account information. It is expected the whole onboarding process would be completed in 2025.
Mr Cheng added that MPFA would continue to keep close liaison with AMCM and FSS to share experience on matters of common concern.
