MPFA delegates attended joint meetings of IOPS and WPPP of OECD in Paris, France (10-11 June 2024)

MPFA Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee and Executive Director (Policy) Mr Eric Cheng attended joint meetings of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) and the Working Party on Private Pensions (WPPP) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) from 10 to 11 June in Paris, France.

At the joint meetings, Mr Cheng showcased the key functionalities and benefits of the eMPF Platform, including fee reduction, enhanced user experience and improved efficiency. The eMPF Platform is a pioneer in establishing central digital platform among the global private pension systems.  It has particular appeal to pension regulators around the world and is highly regarded by representatives attending the joint meetings.

MPFA delegates actively participated in the discussion on other topical pension issues, such as integration of ESG factors in investment and risk management of pension funds and revision of IOPS Principles of Private Pension Supervision, with representatives of pension regulators, academics, and experts worldwide.  The exchanges at the margin of the meetings with representatives from other pension jurisdictions allowed MPFA to forge stronger bonds with existing connections while establishing new ones.
