MPFA and trustees working together to embrace the new era of the MPF (12 June 2024)
MPFA Chief Operating Officer Ms Cynthia Hui attended an anniversary reception hosted by an MPF trustee as Guest of Honour on 12 Jun. Ms Hui expressed her gratitude to the MPF trustees for their contributions to the retirement protection of Hong Kong’s working population over the past 25 years, in particular their support and collaboration regarding the development of the eMPF Platform.
Ms Hui said that the eMPF Platform not only reduces the administration costs of MPF schemes, directly benefiting scheme members through fee reduction, but also reshapes the MPF ecosystem by centralizing all MPF administration tasks on to the eMPF Platform, reducing the associated burden for trustees and promoting industry development and innovation. She called on the industry to seize this opportunity to focus on investment management and providing MPF funds that cater to the needs of scheme members to strengthen their retirement outcomes.
