MPFA Chairman promotes eMPF Platform to catering workers (18 July 2024)
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mr Wallace Lau, and members of the eMPF outreach team met with the representatives of the Eating Establishment Employees General Union (EEEGU) and catering workers (July 18) to demonstrate the functions of the e-MPF Platform and to gather their feedback.
Mrs Lau said the eMPF Platform would provide web and mobile applications, enabling scheme members to handle their MPF anytime, anywhere. In addition to providing a better user experience, administrative costs would be reduced. After all MPF schemes joined the eMPF Platform by the end of 2025, all scheme members will be able to access their MPF accounts in different trustees with ease, facilitating the management of their MPF as well as monitoring the status of their employers’ contributions, thereby enhancing the protection of scheme members’ rights and interests.
To ensure a smooth transition for all workers to the Platform, Mr Wallace Lau aims to maintain close communication with EEEGU. Diverse support measures and programmes will be implemented to assist catering workers in taking advantage of the benefits brought about by this novel digital administration hub.
