MPFA Chairman meets with cleaning workers (30 July 2024)
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mr Wallace Lau met with frontline cleaning workers and representatives from the Hong Kong Cleaning Association (HKCA) on 30 July to listen to their views on the MPF and retirement protection.
Mrs Lau praised the hard working cleaning workers for their strenuous contribution while facing demanding conditions leave them drained by day’s end, making it challenging for them to tend to their retirement savings. She outlined the benefits of the Default Investment Strategy (DIS), which was designed for busy individuals or those unfamiliar with investing, offering global diversified investment, automatic de-risking and fee caps, making it a desirable choice for long-term MPF investment.
During the meeting, Mr. Lau presented the diverse features of the recently launched eMPF Platform which set to enhance operational efficiency and user experience amongst employers and employees. For those unfamiliar with technology, the Platform will offer various support services, including hotlines, service centers, and self-service kiosks. The MPFA and its project team will launch educational initiatives and promotional campaigns to familiarize the public with the Platform’s functionalities, facilitating a smooth transition to the "MPF New Generation."
