eMPF Platform – Further enhancing employees’ retirement protection (16 August 2024)
Mr Eric Lui, Chief Executive Officer of the eMPF Platform Company, attended an MPF seminar organized by an MPF trustee and The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions on 16 August, sharing the functions and the benefits to be brought about to all employees by the eMPF Platform with over a hundred Kaifong.
Mr Lui said that the eMPF Platform is a centralized and one-stop electronic platform, allowing employees to manage their MPF accounts conveniently via smartphones or computers. Thanks to the non-profit making operation, and fully digitalized and automated design, it is expected that the administrative fees payable by scheme members will decrease by approximately 36% within the first two years of operation. The project is estimated to achieve cumulative administration cost savings of $30 billion to $40 billion over 10 years. Scheme members will benefit from fee reduction due to a “straight pass-on” of administrative cost savings, further enhancing employees’ retirement protection.
