MPFA shares the latest developments of the MPF System with the financial planning community (28 August 2024)
Mr Paul Yu, MPFA Director (Policy and Regulation), delivered a keynote speech at the Financial Planning Conference 2024 organized by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) on 28 August, where he shared the latest development of the MPF System and the eMPF Platform with over 300 financial planners and experts in the financial sector. He also highlighted MPFA’s major initiatives in enhancing scheme members’ retirement savings, including lowering fees through different initiatives such as the implementation of the eMPF Platform, optimizing investment regulations to improve risk-adjusted returns, reviewing minimum and maximum relevant income levels for MPF contributions, encouraging voluntary contributions and enhancing MPF portability after the abolition of the MPF offsetting arrangement.
Mr Yu emphasized that MPFA has always been putting scheme members’ interests first and has been pursuing continuous refinements to the MPF System, with a view to assisting the working population in accumulating more retirement savings. MPFA looks forward to the contribution of financial planners for the retirement well-being of MPF scheme members.
