MPFA Chairman promotes the eMPF Platform to ethnic minority job seekers (20 October 2024)

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, Executive Director (Members and Supervision) Mr Kenneth Chan and MPFA colleagues promoted the eMPF Platform (“eMPF”) and the Default Investment Strategy (DIS) to ethnic minority (EM) job seekers and exchanged views on various MPF issues at a multi-cultural job fair in a Sikh Temple in Wan Chai (20 Oct).

Mrs Lau advised the EM job seekers that following the launch of the eMPF Platform in June and the gradual onboarding of each MPF scheme thereafter, scheme members can manage all their accounts via this digital one-stop platform. Information on MPF investment performance from different trustees and schemes will be displayed via a donut chart on the eMPF, facilitating members to review and compare. She reminded EM job seekers to take note of the onboarding schedule of their MPF schemes for timely registration.

She added that DIS has three key features, including automatic de-risking, fee cap and globally diversified investment, making it a viable option for scheme members who lack the time or investment knowledge to manage their MPF regardless of their ethnicity.

The event was co-organized by the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Federation of Hong Kong Ethnic Communities. MPFA set up enquiry counter and distributed bespoke MPF leaflets and promotional materials to participants.
