eMPF Platform enters Phase 2 onboarding Preparing for Future MPF Reforms (20 March 2025)
MPFA Managing Director Cheng Yan-chee attended an event organized by the Pension Schemes Association on 20 Mar, where he thanked the MPF industry’s unfailing support and contributions to the eMPF Platform project.
Cheng said that since the launch of the eMPF Platform in June last year, five early adopters with a total of six MPF schemes have joined the Platform. He attributed the smooth onboarding arrangements to the collaborative efforts of trustees and the project team. To support the phase 2 onboarding arrangement which had begun in early March, the eMPF project team has introduced comprehensive improvement measures with a view to further enhancing user experience.
Cheng added that 2025 would be a critical year for the MPF System, with several key reforms in the pipeline, including the onboarding of all MPF trustees to the eMPF Platform, the abolition of MPF offsetting arrangement on 1 May, and the introduction of the the implementation details and conducting public consultation for the “full portability” of MPF benefits. He looks forward to working closely with the industry to further enhance the MPF System for the working population.
MPFA Chief Operating Officer Ms Cynthia Hui and Executive Director (Members and Supervision) Mr Kenneth Chan also attended the event.
