Candid exchanges between MPFA Chairman and catering industry workers (4 August 2021)
MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Lau, Acting Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan Chee and MPFA colleagues today visited a Chinese restaurant in Tsuen Wan and had candid exchanges with catering industry workers, listening to their views on the MPF System and sharing the fundamental MPF rights in relation to MPF Industry Schemes.
Mrs Lau said that in view of the latest epidemic condition and the release of the Government’s consumption voucher recently, the business of catering industry is gradually improving with more casual workers have been hired. To protect their rights and interests, the MPF Industry Schemes were specially set up where employers are required to make MPF contributions for their casual workers even if they are employed for just one day.
