MPFA to Finalize Organizational Structure & Office Site
The Management Board of the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Authority discussed and endorsed at its meeting today (Thursday) the recommendations submitted by the consultant on the Authority's organizational structure and staff remuneration packages.
A spokesman for the Authority said that in making the recommendations on the remuneration packages, the consultant had conducted a comprehensive job evaluation exercise for the various positions in the Authority's executive arm.
On pay packages, the consultant also conducted an extensive survey on comparable positions in the relevant sectors of the labour market. In its recommendations, the consultant proposed a simplified salary structure. The remuneration will be based on a basic salary plus a bonus pegged with performance.
The spokesman said in accordance with the provisions of the MPF Schemes Ordinance, the Authority will consult the Financial Secretary before finalizing its remuneration packages. The Authority will start the open recruitment exercises as soon as possible afterwards.
Meanwhile, the Management Board also discussed the selection of office accommodation at today's meeting. A few sites in the Central district have been identified and the Authority's property consultant has been studying the technical facilities and assessing their feasibility for the installation of computer systems.
The Authority now have to negotiate the final lease terms with the landlord concerned and then arrange for fitting out.
During the meeting, the Management Board also endorsed eight sets of guidelines for MPF service providers to facilitate them to comply with the MPF legislation.
