Good MPF Employer Award 2021-2022 open for applications
The Good MPF Employer Award (GMEA) 2021-22, organized by the MPFA, is open for applications from today (1 April) until 30 June.
Now in its eighth year, the GMEA has adopted the theme “You are EXTRAordinary!”, to recognize exemplary employers who go the extra mile for their employees’ retirement protection. Last year, a record breaking 1,740 companies and organizations received the GMEA, including 284 first-time participants, reflecting that more and more employers attach importance to providing better retirement protection for their employees.
To commend and encourage employers who have made continuous efforts to enhance the retirement protection of their employees over the years, companies / organizations that have been GMEA awardees for five consecutive years or more will receive the “Good MPF Employer 5 Years+ Award”. The “Best All-round MPF Employer” will be awarded to employers that meet all the following five criteria during the 2021-22 scheme period: (1) received the GMEA for eight consecutive years, (2) offered more than one MPF scheme for their employees to choose from, (3) offered MPF voluntary contributions for some or all of their employees, (4) received the “e-Contribution Award”, and (5) received the “MPF Support Award”.
Companies / organizations can directly submit an online application through the Good MPF Employer Award website. Employees are also welcome to nominate their employers for the GMEA by submitting a nomination form.
The MPFA will announce the results in October 2022. In addition to receiving the GMEA certificate, awardees are entitled to use the GMEA logo on their websites and promotional materials, and will be invited to join MPFA activities, etc.
The GMEA aims to foster employers’ compliance with the MPF legislation and give recognition to employers who are exemplary in enhancing the retirement benefits of their employees. In addition to having participated in an MPF scheme for at least one year and complying with the MPF legislation, a Good MPF Employer must have provided extra retirement protection for his / her employees. Response to the GMEA has been encouraging since its debut in 2015, with nearly 2,500 employers, hiring about 250,000 employees in total, being recognized.
The Good MPF Employer Award 2021-22 has adopted the theme “You are EXTRAordinary!” to recognize exemplary employers who go the extra mile for their employees’ retirement protection.
